Adebayo Shittu visits ntel, commends huge investment
NatCom Development and Investment Limited, the company that acquired the core assets of NiTel/MTel, played host to Barrister Adebayo Shittu, the Minister of Communication, at their Tier III data center in Lagos on Monday.
Shittu, who was accompanied by a five-man team from the Ministry of Communications as well as the acting DG of NITDA, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, was received at the Data Center/Cable Landing Station by Dr. Tunde Ayeni, the Chairman NatCom; Kamar Abass, MD of ntel; and senior members of the ntel management team.
“Government is appreciative of what you have done. “I want to congratulate ntel on the huge investment made to revive NiTel. “People need to know about the huge investment you have made and I hope that my visit will help in that regard.”
Shittu, who was conducted round the multi-million dollar Tier III Data Center, expressed delight at the transformation of the moribund NiTel facilities. Speaking while inspecting the Data Center, he said: “I am happy that a Nigerian company with local funds has done this.
Ayeni thanked Shittu for visiting and supporting ntel. He promised: “We will try our best to create competition in the market and create more opportunities for Nigerians.

July 2, 2016 8:32 amCongratulations to ntel. Wishing you more successes. I hope you will be able to reduce your data rate. You are operating in a competitive market and data rates are going down every day. You need inflow of funds in other to carry out your expansion progress. With the present rate, you are not likely to attract many customers. How many Nigerians can afford N3,000weekly for data?
